Wrinkly Bits
A Blog by Gail Cushman
Instead of concentrating on what we did this year, I have been thinking about what we learned, and made a list, you know how I am with lists! Some of the listed items I already knew, but recent events have reminded me to remind myself of them. There is no order to this list, just a ramble-scramble of nonsensical or farcical things that are on my mind as I write this blog.
Nothing beats a sunrise or a sunset, except sitting with someone you love to enjoy it.
If I don’t go to Costco or Sam’s Club, I will undoubtedly spend less money and not have to find storage space for 55-gallon drums of olive oil.
Jesus is the answer, but what was the question, again?
I learned that life is precious. Well, I already knew this, but it came to mind after attending a funeral this week for a man who died much too young reminding me that every day counts.
Trust my heart. Trust my gut. It’s okay to get married a second time.
I don’t need dresses in Montana, but boots and sweaters are essential. Gloves, too.
I need a cruise every year, so don’t fight it, Cowboy.
Pay attention to your mother, she won’t always be around to give you advice.
Dogs and cats provide us with unconditional love.
There are at least a dozen versions of mincemeat pie. I don’t want to eat any of them.
Follow my passions. Mine is traveling and writing books. Oh, Cowboy fits in there somewhere!
Be thankful for what I have, both big and small.
Smiles are cheap, kindness is free, and love is forever.
Don’t cry over spilled milk…spilled wine on the other hand…
Dress jauntily. Drink good wine. Laugh every chance I get!
Happy New Year to all…enjoy the holiday and your family. Thank you for reading my blogs and books.
Send me a note now and then… I love hearing from everyone, even if we’ve never met. You make my life complete. Please add to this list, I’d love to know what you have learned.
My newest two books are now available on my website and on Amazon. Murder in the Parsonage, the story of coverups and deceit. And Loving Again, A Guide to Online Dating for Widows and Widowers, the love story of the Cowboy and Gail, and our journey from loneliness to adventures.
